“The heights by great men reached and kept was not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.” Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
“Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.” Thomas Edison.
“Success is ten percent inspiration and ninety percent perspiration.” Thomas Edison
“Some men see things as they are and say why–I dream things that never were and say why not.” George Bernard Shaw
In my life I have known the heights of success and the depths of failure. I have known what it is to give up when, if I had but persevered a little longer, would have pushed through to the next level. Yet for me, the tragedy of my life would be if I were to allow my failures to define me. My failures have been but stepping stones, learning tools by which I could move forward.
There can be no success without failure. There can be no lasting achievement without some disappointments in life. These are not designed to destroy you but to strengthen you and to help develop your resolve to press through. Most people will not see the many times you have labored and struggled your way through to the achieving of your goals. It matters not. What matters is that you have not and did not give up. You are not defined by failure. They are but learning tools by which you can go on to greater maturity and wisdom.
Do not give up, no matter how many times you have been knocked down. You never know whether that next moment, that next opportunity will propel you to greater purposes for your life.
“Many of life’s failures are experienced by people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” Thomas Edison
Blessings!
